July

Posted by Marisa Abad Thu, 12 Jul 2007 23:29:00 GMT

So the month has started off with swim lessons everyday. Keona is doing so well. He’s the only one in his class that puts his head under the water. He loves it. He also started swimming by himself in the pool at home. He can swim from one end to the other, the short way that is.

Keona’s swim lessons went well on the 3rd again. His teacher gave him a pool noodle since it was her last day with him. He has two more classes for the first session, but she’s going out of town, so he’ll have a sub for the last two days. I had an ultrasound later in the day. Mahea, baby a measures at 4 lbs. 11 oz. and Kamaile, baby b measures at 4 lbs. 9 oz. They’re both still breech.

For the Fourth of July, Dad brought Keona to the Clayton parade. They ran into Jennifer, Eric, Alyssa and Paige. Keona got to play with Alyssa on the blow up slides and then they watched the parade. After, we bbq’d hot dogs and polish dogs for lunch. For dinner, Chris, Keona and I went to Benihanas with Kasia, Kyle and Luke to celebrate our 25th birthday early, just in case. Later, Chris, Keona, Mom, Dad and I went to watch the fireworks at the Singing Flag here in Concord. Mom and Dad stayed in their car. We sat on the lawn at El Dorado Middle School and had a great view of the fireworks. Keona was so excited to watch them.

Keona did well with his sub for swim lessons.I had a hair appointment on the 5th. I chopped it off. It’s above my shoulders, but it’s really cute.

Keona’s last day of swim lessons for the first session went well as always.

June...And so begins summertime...

Posted by Marisa Abad Mon, 04 Jun 2007 00:03:00 GMT

On the 1st, Maria and Bruce brought Van to come and stay with us for the weekend while they went on a trip to Vegas. He’s so cute. He smiled a lot and was very good. Chris took Keona and Van on a walk. Van slept the whole time and Keona of course was awake the whole time. Keona liked helping feed Van his bottle. Van also only woke up once in the night. We were so surprised how calm and mellow he was.

On the 2nd we had Keona’s 3rd Birthday party. It was a Backyardigans theme. We had a bbq out in the backyard, followed by the kids and their dads swimming. When we went outside to eat, Keona saw all the decorations and said happily “It’s my birthday party.” After awhile we sang Happy Birthday and cut the cake and did the pinata. Keona had so much fun. This was the first time he actually smiled while everyone sang happy birthday to him. After the pinata, we opened gifts and then the kids went back into the pool. Keona got a lot gifts and money. I’m so happy he had such a good time. We were all so tired after the party. Van passed out pretty early, but once again only woke up once in the night. After we had dinner, Keona had a quick shower and passed out on the couch. He played so much and had no nap so he was exhausted.

Today, June 3rd, Van goes home. I told Keona he would be going home today. Keona said he didn’t want him to and that Van has to stay here so he can take care of him. We’ll miss having Van here. We enjoyed taking care of him this weekend, but we know he has to go home. Well, we’ll soon have our two little ones here to take care of and Keona will have two baby sisters to help take care of. So Van went home early this evening. We all miss him already. It was so nice having him here. He’s such a good baby. We can’t wait to see him again. This evening Keona told me he wanted to take care of Van and I told him he went home already. Keona said, “He’s not theres anymore (referring to Maria and Bruce).” And I asked him who’s baby was he then and Keona said “Mine.” I’m glad he loves his cousin so much. He did have a lot of jealousy especially when Chris held Van, but he was still very good with him. He’s going to be such a good big brother.

May

Posted by Marisa Abad Thu, 03 May 2007 19:23:00 GMT

Potty training has gone well this week. Keona didn’t have any accidents yesterday, May 2. We’re very proud of him. He’s such a big boy.

We had tacos for Cinco de Mayo and Chris made his guacamole. Afterwards, we headed up to Fairfield for a birthday party and then to American Canyon for another birthday party.

Sunday, the 6th, we went to church, then to Brentwood to get Keona’s birthday invitations. On our way home I realized we didn’t have the house key and we had to go home so I could find out how to get to our 4D ultrasound appointment. Chris had to climb through the kitchen window which was luckily unlocked. Then we went to our 4D ultrasound which went really well. I love those things. The babies were moving a whole lot. They’re so cute. I can’t wait to meet them. Keona said that one of them looked like an elephant because she put her arm up over her face. So we had a pretty busy weekend.

Monday, the 7th Chris and I had an infant cpr class. It was supposed to be three hours. Luckily it was only 2 1/2 hours long, but that’s still pretty long.

Chris and I went to another ultrasound appointment today, May 9. It was to check the babies growth. They’re both doing very well. Keona isn’t allowed to go to the rest of our ultrasounds anymore. John Muir doesn’t allow kids at their ultrasound place. I showed Keona the ultrasound pictures after our nap. He said he wanted to see Kamaile and Mahea. Those are the names we’ve chosen for the babies. He already knows their names. It’s so cute to hear him say their names.

April...Happy Easter!

Posted by Marisa Abad Sat, 07 Apr 2007 06:46:00 GMT

Chris and Dad left Sunday, the 1st of April, in the morning and drove up to Concord. Mom, Keona, Grandma and I went to church at 11 and crazy little Keona decided to climb up and down the pew. Oh, is he a load of work. Dad and Chris both got in between 2 and 3. Kasia and Luke came by to visit just as Chris was getting in. Kasia already bought an outfit for the b abies. When we went to the storage place, the entire truck was packed with our stuff. It’s crazy how much stuff we have. They unloaded most of it and then Derrick and his friend came the next day to help unload the rest. Even though we had tons of stuff they sure got everything done quick.

So this first week here has gone well. Monday, I unpacked Keona’s outdoor toys and set it all up for him in the backyard. It looks like an outdoor preschool. He loves it.

Keona decided that he wanted to take a nap in the crib on Tuesday and ever since, he’s been sleeping in it. I thought it was going to be so hard to get him to sleep in his own room and bed and it’s turning out to be a piece of cake. I know he’s not in a bed, but hey, he’s sleeping and not freaking out.

Wednesday, Keona and I went shopping at babiesrus with Kasia and Luke. Our invitations for the shower also came in that morning. They’re very cute. I’m so excited to see what we get at the shower.

Thursday, I ran errands and then after dinner, Mom, Keona and I went to Mervyn’s and I bought these cute bodysuits with monkeys on them for the babies. Mom bought one for my cousin Van when Maria and Bruce had their shower. I thought it was so cute and wanted to get them too.

So now, it’s Friday night on the 6th. Everyday I’ve gone to do errands and buy Easter stuff. Dad, Mom, Keona and I went to church for Good Friday. I told Keona he had to be quiet, and he was such a good boy. He was quiet the entire time. After, I went to run more errands and then dropped by to see Kasia and Luke and drop of his easter basket. For dinner, Chris, Keona, Mom, Dad and I went to Sizzler. Chris and I haven’t been there in years. So everything’s good so far. We’re just spending time unpacking our stuff.

The 21st was our baby shower. Grandma Jo gave us our shower. She had yummy finger foods, cute decorations and a beautiful cake. We had a lot of fun. Debbie put together fun and different games and Mom put together really nice prize baskets. We made out really well with the shower. We got tons of clothes for the babies and tons of money and giftcards. It was enough to get everything else that was left on our registry, which I went and got with Mom, Dad and Keona on the 23rd. We did leave a couple things on our registry, but we got all the big and main things we’ll need for now. And the best part is we still have a lot of money left over.

The 26th was another appointment. We got to hear the babies hearbeats for the first time. Keona was sitting on Chris’ lap and when we were done listening to the hearbeats, Chris realized Keona had stiffened up and was shaking. He was scared of the heartbeat sounds. Poor thing.

So this last weekend in April was very warm. Saturday was really hot. Chris has been working on the pool and it looks great. The only problem is that the water isn’t warm yet. When it starts being warm everyday, it’ll be nice to swim in.

March...It's Moving Time...

Posted by Marisa Abad Fri, 30 Mar 2007 01:47:00 GMT

Busy, busy, busy is all I can say about this month. Mom stayed until the 13th, driving me around and helping me pack. It was very nice having mom here to help.

On the 8th, Chris and I went to Boomers with his fraternity and then we met up with some old school people at Dave and Busters.

Keona continued to have football until the 23rd. The second class turned out well. Keona was very interested in climbing through the tunnels and throwing and kicking the football. His last class he had a great time because parents got to participate in this class. He received a certificate for being in the class.

For St. Patrick’s Day, I made corned beef for lunch, then we dropped Keona off with Papa and went to Matt and Steph’s for a St. Patrick’s Day/housewarming party. They had so much good food. I could not stop myself from eating.

February

Posted by Marisa Abad Wed, 07 Feb 2007 01:39:00 GMT

We started off the month by flying up to the bay area on the 1st. We went up for Maria and Bruce’s baby shower. When we got to my parents house, Keona was so excited to be there. Friday we went to Babiesrus and afterwards, Kasia and Luke came to visit. Saturday was the shower. It turned out really nice and it was great seeing the family. We had a short but nice visit in the bay area. We flew home Sunday evening.

Thursday the 8th was my 12 week appointment. Chris and Keona came along of course. The twins have gotten bigger. They were so active. At first only one baby was kicking and the other was sleeping, but as the doctor moved around, the other baby woke up. Soon they were doing somersaults and kicking one another’s sacks.

It’s Valentines Day. It will be a pretty quiet day today, but that’s okay. Keona enjoyed his card and heart with M&M’s in them.

Happy New Year

Posted by Marisa Abad Fri, 26 Jan 2007 04:46:00 GMT

It’s 2008. We started off the month getting ready to drive back home to San Diego. My morning sickness kicked in pretty early so, packing was put on hold for a week. We headed back to San Diego on Sunday, the 7th. Not exactly a fun trip for me. When we pulled up just around the corner from our house, Keona threw up his arms and screamed “Yay, we’re home.” He was very excited to be back home.

Tuesday, the 9th Dad drove the acura down along with the rest of our stuff we left at Mom and Dad’s house. He also came down to help Papa and Jason move into their new apartment.

Thursday, the 11th, I had my first prenatal appointment. Chris and Keona came along. We had our first ultrasound, and found out we were having twins. Believe me, we were in shock, but very excited. We told Keona there were two babies in my belly and he threw up his arms like he was cheering. Later, he loooked at Chris and said, “I just want one.” We told him, we’re sorry but there’s two babies and he said “No, just one.” Of course we called everyone. Everybody was surprised and excited. The doctor gave me medicine to help with my nausea and vomiting and sure has helped.

On Sunday, we drove dad to the airport. It was nice having him at our place.

2006 is coming to an end...

Posted by Marisa Abad Thu, 28 Dec 2006 18:40:00 GMT

It’s December and 2006 is almost over. We’ve had another crazy and busy month this month. We’re still here in the bay area.

We started off the month with a party at Grandma Jo and Grandpa Ed’s house on the 2nd because Uncle Peter came to visit from Hawaii. After the party Lupe and I went shopping at the mall while Chris and Keona took Paul and the kids home. Then we all spent the night at Paul and Lupe’s house.

The following weekend on the 10th, we had an early Christmas with Dad’s family. It was a great time. All 14 great grandchildren and the only great great grandson was there. Of the 11 grandchildren that were alive we were missing one. But it was great to have almost everyone there to celebrate Christmas. After the party some of us went to Rene and James’ house. Then once again we spent the night at Paul and Lupe’s house.

The next day we went to the tree farm with them and were gonna go back to my parents but Chris ended up leaving his cell phone at the tree farm, so we spent the night again and picked up the one the next day.

On Monday the 18th, we found out that Keona is going to be a big brother. We’re very excited to be having another baby.

On the 19th, I picked up Melia and Morgan and took them to San Francisco to go shopping in Union Square. Keona came too of course. We had lunch, went shopping and then had dinner at Cheesecake Factory. The girls spent the night at my parents that night.

The next day we drove to Sacramento for Lisa’s graduation. Congrats Lisa.

Can you believe it's already November?

Posted by Marisa Abad Sat, 11 Nov 2006 05:00:00 GMT

Time sure does go by fast. The end of the year is almost hear. To begin the month, Keona and I went to the Delta’s big sis dinner. Chris couldn’t go of course since it’s for the sorority only.

On the 7th, we, along with the cats drove up to the Bay Area, where we will be until New Years. The 8th, which was Grandma Trina’s 88th birthday, Mom, Dad, Keona and I drove up to Vallejo and took Grandma to her doctor appointment and then we ate at Andrea’s, a filipino restaurant for her birthday. We will celebrate the rest of her birthday on Saturday with the rest of the family.

On the 8th, Keona and I went shopping with Kasia and Luke. Luke is so cute. He’s got chubby little cheeks. I’m so excited to be his godmother. Debbie was gone the past two nights, so Keona was very excited to see her when she came home from work.

On the 9th, I went walking around Sunvalley mall a bit then drove back to the house to have lunch with Wendy and Chris. We ate at Ed’s Mudville Grill. Everytime I go there, it reminds me of middle school and high, school. Afterwards, Keona, Mom and I went shopping at Old Navy and I got some stuff for us and boots for Mom and a fleed pajama set for dad.

October

Posted by Marisa Abad Sat, 11 Nov 2006 04:49:00 GMT

For October, Mom and Dad flew down on the 19th. On the 21st, Dad’s 63rd birthday, we drove to Las Vegas and met up with Debbie, Uncle Bob, Aunt Charlene, Morgan and Bobby. We took Dad to Vegas for his birthday since he’s never been before. For dinner we ate at the World Buffet at Rio. Aunt Queenie, Aunt Teri-Lynn, Jason, Aunt Queenie’s boyfriend and his daughter joined us for dinner, which was a nice surprise for Dad. However, aside from the food being awesome, someone stole Mom’s first, so that was a bit of a downer. After dinner we watched the show in the Rio and the kids got Mardi Gras beads. Then we all headed back to the hotel. Jason took, Debbie, Morgan, Bobby, Chris and I to the Hawaiian Marketplace and we watched his dance group dance.
